What is the Exit Guide?

The Exit Guide is a practical, step-by-step resource for Australian parents bringing their baby(s) home after international surrogacy. It’s designed to walk you through the post-birth process with confidence - covering everything from paperwork and government processes to embassy interviews and timelines.

We launched with our Tbilisi Exit Guide and are working on versions for the Mexico, the U.S. and Ghana.

What documents does the Exit Guide help with?

Plenty. Inside the guide, you’ll find:

  • What to prepare before and after birth
  • Detailed help with Citizenship by Descent (CBD) and passport applications
  • Embassy procedures and what to expect at each step
  • Templates, forms and links
  • Local contacts and helpful in-country tips

It’s basically your shortcut to feeling organised and in control.

How often is the Exit Guide updated?

We review the guide every three months to make sure it reflects the latest requirements and embassy procedures. If something changes in between, we’ll update it immediately and email you the new info.

That means you’re always working from the most accurate, up-to-date version - no guesswork needed.

Will the Embassy contact our surrogate?

Yes, usually as part of the exit process the Australian Embassy will reach out to confirm her consent, which is a standard part of the process.

Can I get a digital copy instead of print?

Right now, the Exit Guide is only available in printed softcover and hardcover formats. Why? Because when you’re on the ground in a foreign country, there’s something incredibly reassuring about having a physical guide you can flip through, mark up, and carry with you.

Plus, we’ve designed it to be durable, travel friendly, and easy to follow. No scrolling required.

What’s the difference between the softcover and hardcover?

Softcover: Lightweight and flexible. Great for tossing in your bag and carrying around
while you’re on the go.

Hardcover: Tough, sturdy, and designed to last - perfect for parents who want something a little more polished and durable.

The content is exactly the same in both.

How will I receive the Exit Guide?

Once you complete your purchase, your guide will be shipped straight to your postal address. You’ll also be added to our update list, so if anything changes after your purchase, we’ll email you the new info or replacement page(s).

What if I’m not at the exit stage yet?

That’s totally fine, and actually, a lot of parents start with our free resources first. These include checklists, local tips, and planning tools that can help you get prepared early.

When you're ready to bring your baby home, the Exit Guide will be here - up-to-date and ready to support you.

Do you offer any one-on-one help?

We’re working on offering more personalised support soon. For now, the Exit Guide is packed with insights, templates, and tips we’ve personally used and tested.

If you’re stuck or have a specific question, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here, and happy to help however we can.
